About Million Design Company
Company Story
Gillian Million designs and creates bridal jewellery for brides all over the world, including celebrity and royal clients. Her designs feature regularly in fashion and celebrity magazines.
Gillian set about designing her own headdress when she found that she couldn't find the right hair accessories to compliment her wedding dress for her New Year's Eve wedding in 1999. Excited by the result and encouraged by the enthusiastic response of others, Million Design Company was launched in February 2002.
Within months of launching, Liberty in Regent Street took the entire Million Design Company collection and soon to follow were Amanda Wakeley, Browns Brides and Christiana Couture.
As the business has developed, Gillian has created a unique and valued relationship with her clients and it has become apparent that the true value of the business is not stumbling across Million Design Company designs in retailers but truly experiencing the service which Gillian offers to her clients. Due to the fact that we have now been running for nearly 10 years, Gillian never sells any one piece she creates, therefore, each client sees an array of fashions, whether floral designs, headbands, tiaras, diamante clips, pins or 1920's caps! All are available to see and try on so each bride feels she can find what it is that suits her individual needs and creative aspirations rather than having to deal with the trend of the moment! Therefore, Million Design recommends personal appointments or the on line shop is available for instant purchase. This being said, no online purchase goes through without a personal phone cal from Million Design to ensure that we are meeting our customer's expectations in colour, size, design and additional accessories.
In addition to the individual care and attention offered by its well-established bespoke service, the Million Design Company has launched its online shop. You can now browse at your leisure and purchase Gilian's exquisite designs from the comfort of your own home..
How are Million Design Company different?
"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue"
The Million Design Company creates unique jewellery and headdresses with a sense of vintage elegance. We recycle antique pearls and vintage jewels and pieces of jewellery bringing something old into something new. We even hide a little blue swarovski crystal into the jewellery to tick the box of "something blue"! Faux pearls, vintage glass beads and semi precious-stones are intricately wired together, creating the most beautiful and precious designs that somehow feel that you are holding onto a family heirloom, quite magical and completely unique and personal!
Fashions are of course, forever evolving, and Gillian Million's collection moves with the times whilst maintaining an air of inherited beauty. The collection includes, exquisite fascinators, chic birdcage veil headdresses, jewelled headbands, replicated 1920's beaded caps, hair pins, cuffs, elegant veils, necklaces both subtle and magnificent, fur stoles, forehead jewellery and back jewellery and all the unimaginable brought to life in her breathtaking studio in Teddington which must be seen to be believed!
"It is extremely rewarding to create hair accessories that are unique and individual to each bride; we always have such a lovely time together and I am so proud to be involved in such a special part of their wedding planning. I receive the most amazing and delightful comments from each bride; I even receive communication with further orders of jewellery for 1st year wedding anniversary presents, photos of new born babies and updates on house moves and travels abroad! So wonderful and special and that is why I simply can't just sell through retailers - you just have to come and visit me and make the choosing of your accessories a truly memorable and special part of your wedding planning"!

What does Million Design Company offer to clients?
Fast and efficient delivery of more than 200 exquisite designs are available to online customers.
Clients booking bespoke appointments will benefit from the very special, unique and valued relationship which Gillian builds with her clients as she aims to exceed the expectations of every bride.
Gillian welcomes each client into her home where they sit in front of the fire with a cup of tea, fabric swatches, magazine cuttings, sketch pads and discuss, in great detail, the accessory needs of the bride for her wedding day. They then spend time in Gillian's studio, surrounded by countless examples of Gillian's beautiful creations. The whole experience inspires creativity and designs to meet the needs of the bride whether classically understated or dramatically flamboyant. Just recently, the trend has been for the husband to call Gillian to redesign the bridal headdress into another piece of jewellery for the 1st year wedding anniversary present as a surprise - the ultimate in romance and thoughtfulness!!

After the Wedding
Brides like to be able to wear their headdresses again but rarely find the occasion to do so. The Million Design Company offers an after wedding service where we recreate the headdress or jewellery into a more wearable piece of jewellery. For example we can convert the tiaras into chokers or necklaces or we can dismantle the jewels and recreate them into a cuff, choker, necklace or brooch to be worn time and time again in memory of the wedding day.
